Strandåtindtraversen

Strandåtind on Kjerringøy is an impressive mountain that combines beautiful nature experiences with physical challenge, and is a major attraction for both mountain hikers and nature lovers.

The trip starts from Låter on Kjærringøy. We move up towards the water and start the climb up towards the ridge of Strandåtind from the west, then move to the east. The traverse includes 7 rappels and a lot of scrambling. The most challenging part is Hal's hammer, where the first people who tried had to turn around. Here we meet a steep hammer of about 20 meters with a climb of 5+. After reaching the top, several rappels follow that lead us back to the trail. This path leads us down to the water and on to the parking lot. This is the ideal trip for those who have already climbed Stetind and are looking for new challenges.
