Avalanche Course Beiarn
Learn the basics to be able to plan and carry out your own ski touring trips.
For those of you who want to make a little more out of the avalanche course, we recommend this weekend in Beiarn. The course program is relatively similar to our avalanche courses in Bodø, but includes a theory session on Friday and Saturday evenings, with socializing.
We spend two days outdoors focusing on terrain selection, avalanche warning, snow knowledge, buddy rescue and group dynamics. This course does not require any prior knowledge other than that you can get up and down safely on skis.
The aim of the course is to give you a thorough introduction to what traffic in or near avalanche terrain entails. If you want to learn the basics of avalanches, avalanche terrain, buddy rescue and the use of caution, this is the course for you!

Practical information
- The goal of this course is to give you the tools to make good decisions on ski touring, and to be able to independently assess when it is safe to enter avalanche terrain and not. In preparation for the course, you can download the app "varsom". If you want relevant literature, we recommend the book "Skikompis" by Christer Lundberg Nes (2022).
